Joseph A. Messicci, Ph.D has served individuals and organizations as
consultant, counselor, and educator since 1972. He has advised individuals
on personal and professional development, educational direction, and career
choice. He has consulted on a variety of leadership, succession, family business, employee selection, manager development, and productivity/gainsharing issues
with organizations in manufacturing, distribution, education, health care, and financial sectors. He has consulted in both union and non-union environments.
Dr. Messicci has presented seminars and consulted nationally through the
American Productivity Center and the Scanlon Associates/Michigan State University, and for a variety of industry groups and businesses. He is past
Vice President of the Minnesota Chapter, American Society for Performance Improvement.
Dr. Messicci served as consultant to the Ford/UAW Displaced Worker Program.
He has worked extensively with individuals having job-related injuries, often in highly charged or contentious environments. He has helped to resolve conflict issues involving corporate directors, family business owner/ employees, business managers, college faculty groups, and professional firm partners.
In addition to his consulting practice, Dr. Messicci founded and operated, for ten years, a custom graphics arts business producing high-end fine art reproductions for artists and publishers.
Dr. Messicci holds a Ph.D. degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Michigan State University, and an M.A. degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from Mankato State University.
Dr. Joseph Messicci is a Qualified Neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice for civil/facilitative mediation. His training in mediation was received through the Mediation Center for Dispute Resolution at Hamline University School of Law. He is a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association.
